Slip cross-check bench
Compare what the slip claims against what you measured.
Warehouse weights and dimensions are the basis of every quote, and nobody checks them against the parcel that actually arrives. Drift that repeats is money that repeats.
Basis. Each row is flagged when mass differs from the claimed figure by more than 12% or 0.35 kg, or when packed volume differs by more than 10%. The chargeable gap converts the deviation using the divisor you select. Parameters last confirmed 2026-09-12.

| # | Item | Δ kg | Δ % | Δ cm³ | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Hoodie, size L | +0.16 | +18.6% | +1137 | off tolerance |
| 02 | Shoe pair, EU 42 | -0.01 | -0.9% | -1464 | off tolerance |
| 03 | Two tees bundled | +0.19 | +45.2% | +2751 | off tolerance |
Δ is measured minus claimed. A positive mass delta means the slip understated the parcel.
3 row(s) break the tolerance. The chargeable-weight gap across all rows is 0.36 kg at the selected divider.
Hoodie, size L: Mass differs by +0.16 kg (18.6%) — above the 12% / 0.35 kg tolerance.
Shoe pair, EU 42: Volume differs by -14.2% — enough to change the chargeable weight band.
Two tees bundled: Mass differs by +0.19 kg (45.2%) — above the 12% / 0.35 kg tolerance.
Tolerance: a row is flagged when mass differs by more than 12% or 0.35 kg, or when packed volume differs by more than 10%. Chargeable gap is converted with ÷6000.
Why a hand scale is enough
A domestic scale accurate to twenty grams is enough to detect the kind of drift that changes a quote, because the drift is usually hundreds of grams rather than tens. The bench sets its tolerance well above scale noise for that reason.
Volume is harder: you need the parcel sealed and the tape measured with it. That is why volume carries its own tolerance and its own line in the verdict.
What counts as a pattern
One parcel outside tolerance is noise. Three parcels from the same warehouse outside tolerance in the same direction is a pattern worth raising, and the bench keeps the rows so the pattern is visible rather than remembered.
- Weigh the parcel before opening it, not after.
- Record the claimed figure from the warehouse page at the same time, not from memory.
- Keep the same scale and the same tape for the whole run.
- Raise a pattern with the claimed weights attached rather than with a complaint about one parcel.
Turning the verdict into a message
The chargeable gap is expressed in kilograms at the divisor you selected, which is the form a line recognises. A message that says “three parcels, +0.4 kg each, chargeable gap 1.2 kg” gets a different response from one that says the weight feels wrong.
Questions this gauge gets asked
| # | Question | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Is this the same as the parcel weight bench? | No. The weight bench converts one parcel into a chargeable figure. This bench compares many parcels against their claimed figures to find drift. |
| 02 | What if I do not have claimed dimensions? | Leave the dimension boxes empty. The row is then judged on mass alone, and the volume line is skipped rather than guessed. |
| 03 | How many rows before it means something? | Three in the same direction. Below that the bench still shows the numbers but the summary will not call it a pattern. |
These are written as ordinary headings and paragraphs rather than as marked-up questions, because marked-up questions no longer produce a richer result in search.
Entries this gauge pairs with
- How is the link table laid out, column by column?
Most tables run left to right: a row number, the link, a short title, the variant, then a date. Past that the order varies by author. Treat the first four columns as the identity of the row and everything further right as commentary, because authorship and maintenance differ from table to table.
- What does a warehouse receipt tell you that the seller page does not?
A seller page describes what was advertised; a warehouse receipt describes what arrived. The receipt carries an intake date, a measured weight, packed dimensions and a condition note written by somebody standing next to the parcel. It proves intake, not contents, and it is the strongest document you get before shipping.
- How do you find your item in a table with thousands of rows?
Search a number before a name, because model codes survive renaming and brand nicknames do not. Filter by the field you are most certain about, and keep the search string rather than the bookmark, since filters usually reset. If the browser’s own find returns nothing, the table is rendering in windows and only its search box is reliable.
