Method
CNFans Rung Desk publishes ranges, batch numbers and sample counts because the alternative — a single confident figure with no traceable origin — is the thing that makes a link-table site useless. This page states where each kind of figure comes from, how a change is recorded, and what the desk cannot know.

1 · Where the numbers come from
Every figure belongs to exactly one of five source types. The type is stated on the page that carries the figure, and the type determines how much precision is allowed.

If a figure cannot be assigned to one of these five, it is not published.
2 · Why this desk publishes bands instead of single figures
A duty rate of “12%” looks authoritative and is usually wrong for at least one reader, because the rate moves with fibre, construction and the officer’s reading of the tariff. Publishing a band of 8–17% with the reason the band is wide tells you something a point estimate cannot: whether the quote in front of you is ordinary or unusual.
The same logic applies to transit windows. A lane reported by 214 arrivals can carry a narrow window. A lane reported by 29 arrivals cannot, no matter how consistent those 29 were, so its window stays wide and its sample count is printed beside it.
3 · How a change is recorded
The desk does not put a status field on each entry. It opens a numbered batch instead, does the work inside that batch, and closes it with a list of what moved. Every entry shows the batch it was last re-read in, so a reader can tell whether two entries were checked on the same day or six months apart.

The full log with per-batch change lists is on the sources page. Batches are never rewritten after they close; a later batch supersedes them.
4 · Known limitations, written down
- The desk has never seen your parcel. Every weight, size and declaration figure depends on what you or your warehouse measured.
- Report counts are self-reported. They are counted honestly but nobody audits the arrivals behind them.
- Measurement runs use one pair or one garment per run on three separate purchases of the same model, not three units of the same production batch.
- Tax bands are national where a national rate exists and deliberately left blank where the rate varies by state or member state. The override box exists for that reason and is not a bug.
- Planning rates per kilo on the ladder gauge are planning rates. They are the shape of the cost, not a quote from any line.
- Nothing on this desk is legal, customs or financial advice. Where a deadline has legal consequences, the desk says so and stops.
5 · What the desk refuses to do
- It does not publish a figure it cannot assign to a source type.
- It does not accept a figure from kabosheet.com or any other commercial party for a number it publishes.
- It does not restate another site’s window as its own. Where a window came from a report thread, the count is the desk’s own count of that thread and the thread is listed on the sources page.
- It does not keep an entry alive to fill a rung. Eleven entries were removed in KB-2026-11 for exactly that reason.
